Monday,
May 18, Paris-Bergen:
The departure day arrived, but arrived looks tough, starting with
the stopover in Copenhagen, the airline announced one hour late, and
after boarding the plane, change of plans and technical problems it
changes planes ... Upon arrival, 2:30 behind!
Bergen, who arrived in the rain when I joined William, and William
Scots arrived a few days earlier.
During their journey, the plane, they found a homestay in downtown
Bergen ...
Mikkel Eldbjorg and hold a music school for children. The welcome
was very warm and we ate with them at every meal. My 3 buddies have
even participated in the previous National Day parade playing with
Mikkel. We can not thank them enough ...
Tuesday, 19 Bergen-Aurelandsda:
First train to Flåm at an exorbitant price! But wonderful journey
with a change of train at Myrdal at 1000m altitude. From here we take
a tourist train that goes down to us Flåm 20 km downstream,
in just 2 HOURS! In the train, we met a French couple of Fontainebleau,
which runs through Norway, South-North in two weeks, I hope they have
succeeded ...
At the Office of Flåm, we meet Fanny, still a French woman,
who works in Norway for the summer, and we have really helped for
our future journey ...
Vassbygdi then a bus to where we begin our ascent into the valley
Aurlandsdalen. Hence, our first steps with our backpacks, loaded with
20 kilograms on average, we will have 1:30 to do the 4km and 450 vertical
meters which separate us from our first camp, Almen, an old barn where
we keep a few sheep company for the night ...
Wednesday 20, Aurelandsdalen:
Till the sun for our first wake up, get used to it, the nights are
short and it's night between 1 and 2 o'clock in the morning only.
The continuous rise in the valley to Nesbo, 400 vertical meters of
8km. We ask our tents beside the river where we loupons little momentum
going a few steps from the camps in order traces. We attack our first
bath at 8 ° and wash our clothes that will not dry during the
night at -1 °!
Thursday 21, Aurelandsdalen-Sogndal:
After
a night to 6 in the tent, Viki, a nice Norwegian invites us to carry
us across the lake by boat, while another descends gracefully until
we Aureland, 30 miles away. Then again, we propose a driver to take
us to Flåm, to take wherever Leikanger, 1 hour by boat, where
we will meet a group of seals.
From there, hitchhiking fast enough to follow our guide to Sogndal
where we will sleep in a tipi overlooking the Sognefjord.
Friday 22, Sogndal-Bøyabreen:
Depart early morning bus for 40km to the north, the destination language
Bøyabreen arm Jostedalsbreen glacier (the largest in Europe).
Having come as loan from the glacier, we set up camp a few hundred
meters, to enjoy a spectacular view of the glacier and the valley.
Just beside a stream from the glacier allows us to wash in water at
6 °, refreshing! A little higher above the tents, a large rock
we will observe a momentum and a troupeu doe during the evening and
the rumblings of the glacier along with snow slide.
Saturday 23, Bøyabreen-Gol:
1:30 Departure to walk along the main road to reach a bus stop further
south. After 4 hours of bus and ferry crossing of Sognford, we arrive
at Gol.
Back to civilization (recall that in Norway, the sale of alcohol is
banned in supermarkets after 18h, use caution!) We take the opportunity
to overnight at the hotel, wash our clothes, and celebrate the anniversary
of William ...
Sunday 24, Gol-Lake Veikultjerni:
After a drunken night, the start was hard this morning. After a multitude
of record elk and 15 km walk along the road, laces, bog, arrived at
Lake Veikultjerni 750 meters. The camp is hard to install in view
of the ground, but the lake is worth the candle at sunset, that said,
the observation will not work this evening ...
Monday 25, Lake-Veikultjerni Liodden:
After 16km walk, here we descended into the valley. A shot of hitchhiking,
and here we are Nesbyen, where unfortunately, we part of William.
Distributed to 3, we find a few kilometers further south, camping
with hytte self-service and trampoline, which proved to be a good
idea given the rainfall in the night.
Tuesday 26, Liodden-Dypilien:
Rough day for the first day without William, had he felt the wind!?!
After 800 meters high and about 7 km in the rain, we decided to install
prematurely tents beside a lake at 1000 meters. The rain did not stop
the wind and amplified, at 20 o'clock we were in sleeping bags.
Wednesday 27, Dypilien-Norsund:
Very short night, it was 3:30, and after a unanimous decision, we
broke camp. The rain stopped but the wind is blowing at 35 knots.
they sheltered in a beautiful cottage in solid wood construction to
take my breakfast, and you attack the trail with pretty snowflake
early career ... After 18km walk and a long descent, we are again
in the valley. After a swift blow to hitchhike to Flåm, where
we see the absence of life, we head south in a truck stop in a lovely
semi-trailer, which deposited us in Noresund . After this long day,
we find a great hytte for the night overlooking the lake and walk
in ...
Thursday 28, Norsund-Jevnaker:
First fat-mat 'holiday in a good bed! Then, after an early galley
of roadside, a nice man takes us right to Hønefoss, followed
by a bus stop that takes us to Jevnaker. From here we embark on the
path of the next day to plant the tents in the woods.
Friday 29, Jevnaker-Harestua:
Great day of walking in the Nordmarka under a blazing sun, civilization
is already closer, you will meet a lot of vtt'iste that day. After
22km walk, several lakes, several breaks, we get lost in the bog before
arrival at Harestua, the compass will save us right to the east! After
the warm encounter a couple of Eritrea, we settle out of strength
in a camp of lumberjacks invaded by mosquitoes.
Saturday 30, Harestua-Oslo:
Thanks in advance for the day, and worn by the weight of our pack
struggling to become lighter, we flemmardons last 30 miles that separate
us from the airport. Attacked by 28 °, it focuses on a lunch break
- shower in a river, which, against hope, we will soften and crack
in the first open road to hitchhike to the Airport!
2 days in advance on the plane, we head to Oslo ... by train, or we
find ourselves for the night, a fouravec seen on Oslo as a hotel room
...
Sunday 31, Oslo:
Sunday and last day, a stroll in sunny Oslo without a backpack and
tap!
Last night for Youth Hostel Ankers, where a couple of roommates suffer
hints of hiking socks!
Monday 1, Oslo-Paris:
Last scope, direction and you leave the airport in Oslo, still under
bright sunshine with a clear view on the paths of our days. Arriving
in Paris, under the same sun a little blackened by pollution, but
when Karen came to pick us ...!!
